With interest, we read the article by Hajar[1] “Rheumatic Fever and Rheumatic Heart Disease: A Historical Perspective.’’ We want to correct the mistake associated with the prevalence of rheumatic heart disease in this article. There was a mistake in Table 2 called “Summary of the American Heart Association revised 2015 Jones criteria.” The statement “Low‐risk population: Acute rheumatic fever (ARF) incidence ≤2/100,000 school‐aged children of all age rheumatic heart disease (RHD) prevalence of ≤1/100,000 population year” was incorrect. This statement should be corrected as follows ‐ “Low‐risk population: ARF incidence ≤2/100,000 school-aged children of all-age RHD prevalence of ≤1/1000 population per year.”[2]
